Does Carlson 2008 Autodesk and above work and load on Windows 8 computer?
Do you have to do anything special?
Is there any reason not to go with Windows 8 versus Windows 7 when condisdering
a laptop for Survey processing field to finish?

Yes, BUT not without creating a Virtual Machine in 8. See this earlier post. I did not like it so much after a few weeks and have dumped 8 until the software catches up. I would say get 7 if you can.
