Anybody know of a reliable source (as in, not going to install a virus on my PC) to download CAD files. Specifically I am trying to find a CAD file of the USA with the State borders.

PPM,

Specifically, what CAD? If AutoCAD, then Vanilla, C3D, Map? If you've got C3D or Map, then there are tons of GIS shapefiles freely available. There are also several GIS programs, like ArcGIS and QGIS, that play well with GIS Shapefiles.

Email me dotson [at] dotsoft [dot] com and let me know what coordinate system and if DXF or DWG version. There aren't a lot of choices in systems, the default is decimal lat/long and USA48 is an option. As mentioned if you can import shapefiles they can easily found on the web.

Neither reply bounded so you should have received both the basic and detailed files.
