In the past I have had luck with the dsub-15 multiport adapter. These are made by trimble and usually there are a few on Ebay. Some give you a USB port and some give you a dsub-9 serial port.

I got the usb port one. Dumb question but do they make a usb cable with two a male fittings? I can get internet access through the cat5 port but cannot share the drive as it is Windows ce 4.

The usb B to usb A cable should work, or just borrow a USB cable from a local printer to test.

I do not understand. My multi adaptor has an a female slot. My computer has an a female slot. How would I transfer with an a male b male cable. I could use that to hook to printer, but that would not help. Or are you suggesting buy an external HD and use cable to connect to it?

The correct multi-adapter should have a USB-B jack. Use a USB-A to USB-B cable and Windows Mobile Device Center software to map the TSCE as a disk drive. If you're in a huge hurry you can always open up the TSCE, pull the memory card out and put it into an adapter.

Most printers these days use a USB B to USB A cable, which is exactly what you need. I just thought if you had a normal ink jet printer you could just borrow the cable instead of buying a new one. Or just buy a USB-B male to USB-A male cable and try it out..

If you record all licence details about the Survey Controller software, you could re-install the OS to bring active-sync back.

Only recommend if you are families with reseting mobile devices to factory spec.
