I'd like to wipe all settings and data back to the factory default. The manual says all software and licenses will also be lost. Does that include the Windows OS, Survey Controller, and Survey Pro? I'm wondering what the factory default includes.

BTW, I received the unit used so I didn't do the initial setup.

Windows shouldn't be wiped out, if it does I would assume you could go on the Trimble web site and re-load the firmware. survey pro will be wiped out write down the registration codes and serial number and re-install from the spectra website. I do not know about survey controller but I would assume it would go as well.

I'd highly recommend that you let a Trimble service center do this rather than doing it yourself. But if you really want to do it, make very sure that you copy down the license info for Survey Controller and/or Survey Pro (if it has Access you don't need to worry about it, Trimble has the license on their license server). The license code for SC is, if I remember correctly, a 16 digit alphanumeric code and you can look it up in the software. You have to note your warranty expiration date as well - when you reinstall SC you can't put in a newer version than your license supports.

You'll need to get a copy of the O/S installer; it's probably still available at trimble.com. Be aware that it will not work with Windows 7 and Mobile Device Center; you'll need a machine with XP and Active Sync.
