So we were reorganizing & found some boxes of older gear/survey equipment. I stumbled upon a Trimble Terramodel CD & USB dongle with the user guides (I do realize the support is discontinued at this point & they’re no longer being sold).
The boss didn’t really know what it was but they keep everything anyway so I started googling & it seems to be the predecessor to TBC. However, I did skim through the table of contents in the user guide & noticed it mentioned performing least squares adjustments which I know C3D can’t do (effectively anyway)
The machine in the office I’m currently using only has Civil 3D anyway so I figured it might not be a bad thing to load the software up and try playing with it. Anybody have any input on the software or it’s capabilities?
It is very good with the right add on for data modeling.?ÿ The roading module is great.?ÿ I have Terramodel installed, but rarely use it these days.?ÿ Mainly to clean surfaces that don't translate well in TBC converting to TTM format.?ÿ I mainly model in Carlson but wish that a few of the features in Terramodel could be incorporated into it.
You might search user?ÿ ?ÿ "eddycreek"?ÿ here on the forum.?ÿ I know he is or was a power user of Terramodel.?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ
I say sell it. There is a market for it and people will buy it. If you have a full seat of TBC then you don't need it anymore. If you have a newer Windows 10 machine you will have to do the old 32 bit work around and not sure the DC file export format is still supported with Access.?ÿ
