Probably been touched upon....is there a way to move trimble DC software onto a non-trimble DC? I do see they have tablet now (not seen), but the TSC7 was demo'd and nobody wanted to use it. Trying to streamline the field to office workflow for ease of use and communications, but currently have many steps moving data from controller to tablet to email, etc and try to get an all in one solution.

If the tablet is running windows 7 or windows 10 then it is possible. I run access on my laptop with windows 10 (in addition to a TSC3 with windows mobile, a Yuma with windows 7, and a TDC600 with android). The version on the laptop is a full version, it easily runs an SX10 (over wifi) as well as an S6 (over an external radio) and GPS. The TDC600 will not run an SX10 (nor will the TSC3), supposedly due to processing power needed. But I wish they would at least let the TDC600 and TSC3 connect to the SX10 in a survey basic mode, although I recognize the limitations without the video.

But if the table is running android then I don't think it is possible. As of right now the only android device that will run access is the TDC600, which I really like (other than not being able to connect to the SX10)

Thank you John...So it is conceivable that any windows based tablet could run access. Does Trimble sell access as software only or do they require a DC purchase also?

?ÿ

I am new to trimble and dealing with them.

@terminus-nc Trimble does sell Access as software only and the license is no longer permanently tied to a particular device.?ÿ If you're planning to run a Trimble robot, the radio link between your device and the robot might be an issue. I'm running the Yuma7 aka T7 Trimble tablet which is basically a TSC7 without the physical keyboard.?ÿ It takes the same accessories as the TSC7 so the radio for the robot is not an issue.
