Strange thing happened. I tried downloading gps data from my Trimble legacy receiver 5800 and Data Transfer says invalid file name. This has never happened before. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks for your replies.
What is the name? Is the file name already determined in the receiver or are you giving it a name?
The name already determined in the receiver. I connect the device the data transfer program shows the files I click to download and it says invalid file name.
When I direct download in Trimble post processing software it downloads okay.
My data transfer program must be corrupted somehow as I can't install another copy and it won't uninstall. Weird.
Worked fine yesterday.
@true-corner A windows update might have caused the issue. Those old programs don’t like the new windows stuff. Just an idea of what might have caused the issue. If you have the executable saved somewhere for reinstalling. You could try removing it through the registry. But be very careful you don’t delete something else that is part of any other trimble files .
You're probably right as I think I recently had a Windows update. Good Ole Windows.
