Ok, I know Traverse PC is the "No CAD zone", but I want to work on a template that closely follows the NCS Cad Standards Layer naming conventions. Here is my situation...
We are currently using C&G for our drafting, but the begin (BL*) and end (EL*) line coding requirements for the auto mapping function in C&G are not compatible with the coding requirements of our data collector (TDS Survey Pro). I want to be able to review my linework on the data collector on the fly to make sure everything is coded correctly before bringing into the office for drafting.
Ideally I would like to get a copy of Carlson Embedded Survey, but my boss has a seat of Traverse PC (circa 2008-2009). I am making the push to put field to finish workflows in place. We are doing more topo work lately so it should be a big time saver (not really a big deal on the boundary work).
I want to set up our field codes and a Traverse PC template to see if I can get satisfactory drawings produced using a field to finish approach.
I am currently working through my point description list. My next step will be to build a template in Traverse PC that emulates the NCS Cad Standards as closely as possible. I don't need NCS standards for every job, but we need them on occasion for certain clients so building new templates with NCS CAD Standard layering will make life easier. I suspect I will only need to build in the linework layers since Traverse PC defaults all points to their point layer.
Does anybody have a Traverse PC template (that is modeled after the NCS CAD Standards) they are willing to share?
Thanks in advance for thoughts/replies/templates!
