I have a crack in my Trimble TSC3 screen which has caused my touch screen to not work. I have ordered a new screen digitizer online for this model for $20.?ÿ The quote from a dealer for digitizer and replacement is $950.

Has anyone attempted the screen replacement themselves with success? I also ordered the t8 star screwdriver to get the collector apart for starters.

Thanks,

I've replaced numerous touch screens on other trimble gear( albeit with their stern and ridiculous rules and guidelines but that is another story) but also purchased them from dealers that shall always remain unnamed, and cost way more than just $20.

?ÿ That being said, depending on your level of experience/comfort with touch screen replacement (like cells phones ipads and Data controllers) what will it cost you to replace the unit if you accidentally damage it further?

The dealer can probably?ÿ do better than $950.00 esp if you're a regular customer, and might cut you a deal on the Trimble warranty and that's also got cost and limitations( i dont endorse trimble just had to use their warranty due to previous commitments I didn't purchase).

Just a few things to consider.

Go Slow and take photos/mark with a sharpie the key connections and Google. ?ÿ Good luck!?ÿ

Just a few things to consider.

yeah its really simple,if its just the digitizer its only 15 dollars from Kargo-tech but be careful,I broke my new digitizer because I didnt have it properly seated before screwing it back together so it cost me 30 dollars because I had to order a second one.there are a lot of screws to take out just remember where they all go and you will be good it only took me 15 minutes.ITS SUPER SIMPLE,YOU CAN DO IT..dont let these shops rake you over the coals for this..its only a 15 dollar part

@luke7574 Hi luke, i??m trying to replace the screen by myself too, and it??s have been more or less easy so far, but i??m in the last step and i??m not very sure how to do it. I already remove the white LCD holder and I only need to take the LCD Display out but I have a few doubts:

Is the Display glued to the Touch screen? Because I tried a few timesc arefully and it didn??t come out. (Maybe i did it wrong or very gentle)

Is the Touch Screen glued to the Tsc3 cover? In case that is glued, what should I use to stick it? Normal glue? Because is what really is broken in my controller.

Thanks, I??ll leave a few pictures to show in what stage I am 😉
