I've done railroad alignments with Terramodel in the past but now can't remember details of how. I do recall that I think it was done in the Roads/Alignment/HAL data entry. I can get tangent and simple curves input but what I don't remember is how to get the spiral transition input. The alignment I'm working on has equal length spirals in and out so should be a bit easier. Any help jogging my memory would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Ken

I don't have the setting in front of me but in the setup menu is where you check the data you are inputting. Late this afternoon I can post what I use for the setting for spiral curves if you can wait that long.

I'm not in a big hurry. I have hard copy of plans with track geometry data that I am trying to get into Terramodel so I can export a line to import into the field computer for future staking.
Thanks,
Ken

I usually just draw a pline between the PI points, then draw/pline/curve/spiral, and plug in the radius and spiral lengths. That's going from memory without having it in front of me. Make sure you have the units settings set to arc/chord definition, depending on what you are using.

Thanks guys, that jogged my memory and now in Terramodel I have reproduced the design engineers track geometry.
Thanks again,
Ken
