Aloha,

I am curious if the combination of the software and the total station is acting correctly...
After I complete the digital level bubble centering process in Survey Pro with "auto compensation" checked the total station is not doing anything i.e. spinning and balancing. Is this normal for S6 and Survey Pro combination?

When I was using the Trimble 5603 it would spin slowly doing the auto compensation. I never seen the S6 do this.

I am wonder if something is wrong with gun err...total station (sorry for the surveyor colloquialism 😀 )

Thank you so much!

PS. Williwaw, I know you've used S6 and Survey Pro combination...any thoughts?
Mahalo!

You are correct - the S6 does not spin around like the 5600 series did. I know it is in the documentation somewhere, just can't find it at the moment.

Aloha, Alan:
Thank you so much for the confirmation! I looked through the manual quickly. If it is there I must have missed it!

The S6 doesn't need to be moved through the circle because it has an absolute encoder.
The compensatir calibration does require rotation horizontally and this is recommended before precision vertical work.

Yswami,

I'm using Trimble Access to run the S6, which I'm still working on fully comprehending btw. I do use Survey Pro as a backup and to run our GPS units when I know I'll be needing to do significant coordinate gymnastics in the field. Hopefully you got the answer you needed. I've learned something as well. Cheers! Willy

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.
