I looked (unsuccessfully) for a thread I started on this ages ago, because I thought I wanted to do something similar. I just don't use the function enough to be familiar with it.
I have two known points on a line...they're 500' apart. I'm near the second point and want to stake a third point 525' from the first point, on the line. Do I fill in the "Start Sta:" field with 525+00.000?

Not familiar with SurvCE. But 525 ' in stationing is 5+25.00
Enter the starting station in this case for the far point as 0+00. Once you check the green arrow the screen will go to the stakeout screen. Then enter in the station and any offset you wish. In your case enter 525 in the station field. It will then display the station you wish.
