I am new to surv ce and gps I want all my data to be in ground distances and geodetic bearings. I am wondering if I am doing this correctly set up base connect read from gps store point 1 go to localization tab change it to geodetic then hit the grid to ground button to convert to ground distance. After I have done these steps I am assuming I am collecting geodetic bearings and ground distances?

My other question is if I rotate the data in the office to match deed bearings and I upload a new rotated crd file to the data collector and I go out to collect more data what steps do I need to take to localize I am assuming I would setup on point 1 again read from gps again because there is know raw data file then go to localization go to a couple control points collect data and everything should be rotated to fit or should I just do the 2 point rotate option because all I did was rotate the data? I am wanting to know if these are the correct procedures for what I am trying to do any info would be appreciated.

Just a note, to what you just said. You said you wanted Ground Distances. We are good there. But, you said you wanted Geodetic Brgs. Just be aware that Geodetic brgs are only Geodetic Brgs AT THE BASE station, and due NORTH and due SOUTH of said base station. IF you move your base E or W of the 1st base station, you will have a different brg system.

I would rotate your deed bearings to match GPS bearings.
Problems arise when you rotate the surveyed GPS data.

IF you MOVE or rotate your base point, then you will have to re-localize, with a new file in the DC. Your ROTATION.

There are a lot of details, that can get goobered.

IF the file is left intact, and the deeds and all are rotated to FIT the coord system, that the base is all set up on, your life will be simpler.

The best way is to figure out what kind of projection you would like BEFORE leaving the office, set that up in your office computer files and data collectors, then never touch it again.
