So I've been using Star*Net for about 7 years now. I have version 7 Standard and I'm considering upgrading to version 8 Pro. I noticed Microsurvey sells a conversion program for $200 that converts TSC* to Starnet format. I'm currently using the free style sheet provided by Trimble. Is the $200 conversion program worth the money? Does it do a better job than the free style sheet? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I think it is. I guess it depends on just how much StarNet you do. If you have the conversion program you will probably be inclined to do more.
I just tested a .jxl file my Spectra Precision Survey Pro exported. Used Trimble Ascii File converter and the provided "Traverse Format StarNet" style sheet. The point descriptors didn't carry over, which is a big minus for me. It would limit me from using it to reduce topo together with, or after, the control adjustment. And I don't much care for the A & DV lines of data in place of the M lines the $200 StarNet version yields. I suppose I could get used to that, but I don't want to.
In the grand scheme of things $200 isn't much. I think that it is worth it for sure.
Thanks, Mark! The description actually comes over? That alone is worth the $200. I've never used the M line before. All I've been doing with starnet is adjusting control. Sounds like there is whole new world of opportunity with the conversion program. I just learned how to use it with the A and DV commands because that's all the stylesheet exported. Thanks again - that is exactly what I was looking for!

I run nearly 100% of my data through StarNet, including topo. If the data is correct it takes 5 minutes, if it isn't it is worth whatever time it takes to fix it.

Same workflow here. The only projects that don't get run through Star*Net are quick one-setup jobs (rare for me) and certain GNSS-only jobs in which it's more convenient to handle the adjustment in TBC.
