Greetings,

I am sure this topic has been covered time and again, but I am not up for searching through 10k pages. So here goes.

I have 3wire differential levels (processed in excel) and I have the distances derived from the 3wire readings (top-bottom x 100).

HOW do I go about formatting the dat file? I have multiple runs to boot, last run incorporates 2 known benchmarks I need to hold for elevation.

HJELP MEG V??R S?? SNILL!! (Norsk for HELP ME PLEASE!!!)

Thank you!!!!!

Jim,

Yes I did, I am confused at the structure of the file, I have not had to use this nor anyone in my office before. It is not set up like differential level notes.

If I understand correctly,

L TR1-TR2?ÿ -5.655 3?ÿ (trav1 to trav 2) (diff in elev) (#turns from 1 to 2)

Am I correct?

If these are digital levels, and you have raw data files, the best thing would be to purchase the appropriate data converter from Microsurvey.

?ÿ

Here is a small sample loop which begins and ends on BM3543. The lines beginning with "L" are the observations. The third column are the observed delta Z's between the 2 stations named in the 2nd column.?ÿ The 4th column is the number of turns between the 2 stations.?ÿ

E?ÿ ?ÿBM3543?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ29.592?ÿ ?ÿ!

L?ÿ ?ÿBM3543-CP7?ÿ ?ÿ2.581?ÿ ?ÿ 1
L?ÿ ?ÿCP7-CP6?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ -3.497?ÿ 1
L?ÿ ?ÿCP6-FH?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ3.354?ÿ 1
L?ÿ ?ÿFH-CP4?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ-0.785?ÿ 1
L?ÿ ?ÿCP4-CP3?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ0.076?ÿ 1
L?ÿ ?ÿCP3-CP2?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ0.651?ÿ 1
L?ÿ ?ÿCP3-CP1?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ 0.826?ÿ 1

L?ÿ ?ÿCP6-CP7?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ3.498 1

I wish they were digital. Our digital was in for service. I think I know what needs to be done. Will post my results.

Thank you again!

That is correct. You can also use distance instead of # of turns. But you must set that in the project options. I prefer to use distances (all metric).?ÿ

L D-E 0.0081 45
L D-X 1.2448 39
L X-C -4.7186 95
L C-B 2.6873 60
L B-A -4.2169 95
L A-8 -2.7370 50
L A-9 -2.7398 71
L A-C 1.5295 119
L C-D 3.4748 132
L C-1 -0.0235 47
L C-5 -0.0542 84
L C-4 -0.0189 75
L C-3 -0.0142 72
L 3-7 0.0046 55
L 3-6 -0.0051 35
L 3-1 -0.0085 42
L 1-C 0.0235 45

I would use distances myself, if I were using a digital level.?ÿ

  • If you have 3 wire data then you have the distances.?ÿ
