Carlson or Microsurvey with Intellicad. The Autodesk maintenance subscriptions are ridiculously overpriced. if you are used to Autocad, Intellicad will not be a problem for you.

If you are using a Carlson data collector, then Carlson is a no brainer. I used Microsurvey while I was Morgan County, Ohio Engineer (with the FelixCad engine) and liked it a lot. For those who grew up with DCA and LDD, the learning curve is very steep as Darcy Detlor's organization wrote DCA.

I installed LDD 2004 on a 64 bit machine and and had no problem with it running. I will be replacing it with the current version of Carlson Civil Suite within the next month, however.
