Good day catch up on the office work that's been piling up; can't dance and it's too wet to plow...
?ÿ
I hope everyone is having a great day, I know I am!

Two of my favorite musicians/writers are John Prine and Townes VanZandt.?ÿ Both were great writers and musicians that couldn't sing worth a lick.?ÿ I'm sure I've listened to hundreds of hours to both of them and will again.
Thanks for the memories.

@andy-bruner I feel the same way about those 2 artists, but they CAN sing, just not all smooth and syrupy as mainstream listeners would like.?ÿ Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, heck, I think even Lucinda Williams can be included in that camp.?ÿ Great songs and deep lyrics.?ÿ Sometimes sad, but somehow that works.

This post is for the Townes fans.
If you were in the NY metro area in the late 60s, 70s and early 80s you may have heard my favorite DJ, Vin Scelsa.?ÿ?ÿ Vin had a unique relationship with Townes.?ÿ Vin is no longer on the air, but there is a site, Vindication, where some of his old radio shows are available.?ÿ If you want to listen, go here:?ÿ?ÿ

Select 1997
Scroll down to the bottom of the list and pick 1-05-97.?ÿ
It is a long recording, but the Townes story starts after some songs, at about 40 minutes.?ÿ I hope you enjoy it.

@loyal When my son was small I would rock him to sleep while "singing" (at least to the best of my ability) Pancho and Lefty.?ÿ Today (35 years later) he hates the song and will change stations if it comes on.?ÿ That's okay, I still enjoy it.

@andy-bruner humming ??Cumbaya(sp?)? is my super power with fussy babies.
I guess it helps that I'm tone deaf, too...
