I am trying to get my new ACER tablet (win7) pc to download Active Sync so that it will be able to communicate with my old Trimble TSC so I can download the gps txt files.
Microsoft tells me that the download is blocked due to compatibility issues???
Your advice please?
Thanks, Brad
Brad,
I don't use a Windows 7 machine, but I do know that the Windows Mobile Command or something like that is what I use on my Vista laptop. Maybe there is something like that for Windows 7?
I still use the Active Sync on the XP machine in the office.
I hope this helps.
Jimmy
You can sync with windows 7, but it needs a different program:
Windows Mobile Device Center installs automatically when you plug the device in, or see
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14
that is what is on my windows 7 machine and it works well!
From my experience, I have not been able to get Windows Mobile Device Center to communicate with older devices that use Active sync. Not sure I tried installing mobile device center on the older pda thing or not.....
Thanks SOLAR !!!
You guys R O C K ! ! !
I use the Mobile Device Center to connect to a Juniper Archer to download data files and it works just fine.
