While running a traverse today my FC5000 with Magnet 6.1 crashed and upon restarting it had created a new job named "Default". I went to open the job I was working in I got a "Failed to open job!" error. Upon looking in the job folder there is absolutely no files except for a .ptcache file in the "Cache" folder.?ÿ
Is there anyway to recover the data? My automatic backup had not kicked in unfortunately, but I am changing the settings to save more frequently.
Are you sure you looked in the correct job folder? If you are seeing the "Failed to open job!" error, then the job file must still be on your system.
Search the drive for any files named?ÿ
.mjf.Locked-wal
.mjf.Locked-shm
mjf.Locked
These files should be in the same folder as YourJob.mjf
The Lock files are created to protect the Microsoft Acess Database. Upon exiting Magnet they are deleted. If Magnet was not exited properly (ie: crash) these files will remain.
?ÿ
Once you find the Lock files, simply delete all three of them. Then YourJob.mjf will open correctly.
?ÿ
Yes, certainly setup your automatic backup to 30 minutes or less.

@leegreen Thank you so much, it has been awhile since I had to deal with the .mjf files so I was looking in the other folder. I was able to delete those referenced files and open the job. Yeah not sure why we had it set to 4 hours, definitely changing it to 30 mins on all of them.?ÿ

P.S. We asked the Topcon Rep that we got the equipment from about this problem and they could not help, so thank you again for the information.
