Prefer that it connect via wireless or USB cable since my new computer and laptop don't sport Serial connections.

Don't mind it being used. I think I could get by with a 24" plotter, but would consider 36" also.

Please bring on the suggestions.

Thanks

If you want a new one, I would suggest you look into the HP 120. I've been looking around and it's about the best deal I've found for my purposes. It supports a 24" roll and it doesn't take up too much room. It's also a good price, at around $850 new.

If you're using Win7 be careful. There are a lot of used plotters that are not usable with Win7.

Having said that, not too long ago I picked up a used HP500, 42" along with a couple hundred dollars worth of ink on eBay for $800. I thought then and still think now it was a very good deal. I had a 24" HP500 already and wanted the same model for simplicity.

I'm with Dave, I too have a 24" and 42" HP 500. Got them both off ebay for cheap. 24" had 36 square meters run through it when I got it. 42" was BFN gov'ment surplus.

Have a HP500 24" for sale. But you don't say where you are.

Another vote for HP here. Been running a HP110 24" for 7 years and never a problem.

Picked up a used HP 1100ps 24" online for next to nothing, biggest expense were the 4 ink cartridges, 4 rolls of 150' paper and service for 600.00, but am good for a while. I really don't need a color plotter but if you do, this is a good investment. I can't conceive of anyone else but HP for a good quality plotter.

Same here. My HP 110 plus does the job.

It's not for high-production, as it has no roll.

I think that it cost around $1000 in 2004 - not sure what they're going for now.
