Guys

I need to extract HZ and V alignments ALONG WITH PROFILE (tunnel work) from Leica's DBX file, and generate report. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I used LGO to import raw data, but only N,E with extremities of x-sections got imported.

Still need V alignment with profile information.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Everything you stored on the sensor should be in the dbx file AND should also of been imported into the LGO project. To get the data you want will require the use of an output format file which you can get by writing a format file using format manager.

Shelby,

that's what I thought that all the info should be imported at the same time, but this didn't happened. Thanks for the info about format manager.

I enjoy working with Leica. However, this whole philosophy of getting the users to create format files for exporting data is a major thorn in most people's side. I get it "we do that way so the user can export data/reports to own liking." It is true, but at least give clients the basic (that 95% of the users will be happy with), as this here poster. The reality is those format files are not that easy to create, you got to punch in the hours to figure a usable export. Customizing existing is not too bad, but creating tunnel data from scratch, there's a few hours of swearing for most folks.

Call your dealer, tell that person "I bought this option, could you please provide me with a *.frt to export the data from that purchased option." Can't do that? Please provide me a credit on future purchase for the hours I will spend building these format files.

With the Viva system, the manufacturer finally woke up and provides a few export options from the DC. Now, we can export a straight PNEHD file from the machine. It is about time, the rest of crowd has been doing it for 15 years!
