The error: "There are viewports that require 3d rendering. The specified Print Styles will be ignored for them."

Happens all the time now including when printing from model space.?ÿA week ago I couldn't even get it to print, but now it will print but text ends up over saturated and some objects print grey instead of black. ANY help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve Cox

Printing to PDF can solve many print problems.

Doesn't seem to solve this one. In 1998 I understood "work arounds", but in 2018 not so much.?ÿ Any how, the problem seems to be that the file went through the hands of another consultant who used AutoCAD 2018 and saved it back to 2013.?ÿ Not good enough. I had to open it with AutoCAD 2015 (which works with 2013) and save it.?ÿ Then upon opening it with ICAD/Carlson 2018 all was well. Yuk.?ÿ Steve

I know next to nothing about Intellicad, but I will offer a few suggestions as to what I would try if I encountered something like this in Autocad.?ÿ Of course all of these are based on Autocad options which I do not know if there is a comparable option in Intellicad. I'm also doing this from memory as I don't have Autocad at home.

  1. ?ÿWhat are the visual styles of the viewports set to? Select a viewport and look at the properties box. There should be a visual style setting in there. Not sure how many viewports you have, but try changing visual styles for them if that is available.
  2. What plot quality are you using? In your page setup, or plot command, there should be a setting for that.?ÿ If using normal, try bumping it up to a higher quality.
  3. As to the grayscale question, I'm wondering if perhaps this is just a plot style issue. Does Intellicad support the use of STB files? Are you using CTB or STB?
  4. Since you have Autocad 2015, did you try to plot it from there?
  5. Is there anything actually rendered in the drawing? Is there a 3D model involved? Does one of the consultants use addon software such as Inventor or Revit? I have no experience with those, but I know from using C3D that saving a drawing down is not the proper way to share files. One needs to export the drawing to a legacy format instead.

I would try 1 and 2, but in case those don't work it would be nice to have answers to 3, 4, and 5.

For #1 above, it's actually the Shade plot setting within the properties palette that I would check.
