Loyal don't they have laws in WY about pollution ( cremated and thrown in my favorite Trout Stream).
That stream will never be the same again.
How about throwing your ashes out around Station DUNCOMB (pid MR0822). Its a drive to station,
its only a 2nd order one but that's good enough for you.

Well John, it will be in Montana, and I don't plan on asking permission anyway.
I vaguely recall occupying Duncomb back in the early 80s though.
:cool::p:rofl:
And my thinking is that John and Loyal are worthy candidates for Final Point monuments. Cremated remains would be part of the aggregate in the concrete base.
Although I will say that Loyal and John being part of the passive network understates their personalities a wee bit! 😉

Randy Rain is correct about double tap for alpha strokes on the 41 for execution and programming entries.

[SARCASM]holy crap!!!! we can't have human ashes in the creeks around here!!!!!! We only allow ash from worthy species, like Pine, fir, larch...and it needs to be deposited the natural way...by the ton.......[/SARCASM]
I assign HMS- to the shift- key, HMS+ to the shift+ key, HMS to the shiftX key, and HR to the shift(divide) key. Have been doing that since I got my first HP41C somewhere around 1979 or so. As others have said, I still have an HP41CX on my desk, use it all the time. I wrote many programs for the HP41CX, including one that would collect and validate precise leveling data (micrometer, before digital levels) and store it in a binary format, and another one for collecting and checking angles and distances for second order traverses (8 sets), also polaris, SPC, UTM, etc.
What a great tool that was, no one has come close to that combination of ease of use and durability. I have a 48GX, don't like it.
Spread my ashes over Meades Ranch (from the air). Born in Kansas, gotta return there....
I loved my 11C and 41 series calculators. The 11C got me through the nationals and 2 States. Then NCEES went all dufus with thier calculator policy. I had hoped CFedS would not go that route but alas, no more 11c for exams.
The 35 is still a pain for me. California will be my last exam. After the letter comes I will give the 35 to my grandkids and revert to the 11c. Hopefully my finger memory wont be broken by then...

Exactly the same here since 1982
I still do solars and use my HP41CX as a stop watch and to run Dr. Elgin's solar algorithm. I don't have spares like Loyal, but I do have all the accessories. I never got around to programming keys for HMS conversions.
I'm with thebionicman regarding the HP 35. I had to buy one for the CFedS exam. It's only useful key is HMS.

I'm going to be cremated and thrown in my favorite Trout Stream, my 41s deserve to live on!

There is a nice HP-41CX app for smart phones that is useful....check it out. I'm sure you will have no use for that antiquated hardware.
Continuing the hi-jack.....One time when my kids were little, I took them to a little creek to cool off. We parked along the road and I told my kids to head down to the creek and that I'd be down there in a couple minutes after I got the ice chest situated.
They had walked down a little access road used by water trucks and were already playing in the shallow creek. I sat down on the bank and opened a cold beer.
Gradually as I watched them play, I noticed sprinklings of white granules on the stream bed under their feet. There were some rose pedals laying on the bank. It took a few minutes to realize what the white granules were.
I told them we would have to pack it up and find a different place to play. Of course they whined and complained and asked WHY?! They would not get out of the creek until I had satisfied their questions.
So I told them.
Didn't take but a few seconds for them to hop out and slip their shoes on.

I ditched my cellphone years ago, I have no need for such things.
I have a land line, and if I'm not in the office to answer it, you can leave a message. Furthermore, IF I'm NOT in my office, I don't want to talk to anybody in the first place.

I like that attitude. I ditched the smart phone and reverted to a flip phone.

I had a flip phone (years ago), it was (and is) much more Star Trekie!

Not sure if there is a landline version...

I FINALLY got a speaker phone a year or so ago, I love it...it gives me both hands to work the computer while talking with the field crew (oh, and for smoking and drinking [coffee of course]).

The app is amazing - even runs the thousands of programs written for the 41...
