I am hoping some of the experts on here can help with with PAGE-NT. I have downloaded the program from NGS' ftp site (several times), install everything per the readme.txt and follow the steps on processing the sample (input1) information they supply. I begin processing the information as shown in the PDF (PNTMAN). All the steps appear to folow what they have until I get to the run option. After I select items 1-6 and hit run i get an error that states, "CANNOT OPEN COMBINED.INP FILE FOR STEP 6!, Check in RUNBLS.SUM and FLOAT.RMS to see if step 5 ran to completion". I check the above mention files and there is no FLOAT.RMS and RUNBLS.SUM states, "Error opening eclipse file."
With that said, i change the "Choose Output Directory" to the sample results (results1) and go through the process. It now appears the programs runs everything fine, but my COMBINE.INP file is dated to NGS' recent update (10/04). The PAGES.SUM file is dated today and had coorected values.
Finally, I try processing my own data and arrive at the same issues I had with the sample.
If anyone has any advise or comments, please share them.
Thank you,
Brad
Having installed PAGES and Adjust before and all the hacks I had to do to make it work, I can tell you that this software will only work with Windows XP. It looks like it was really designed to run on Windows NT... but my experience was from Feb. 2009. Maybe something has changed for the better.
Very ominous news. 🙁
It appears NGS does have an updated readme and pnt6 folder on their ftp site that is addressed to Windows 7, dated 9/28/11. The publisher states they got the program to work.
It appears the program does work with the results folder, except the PLOT program. An error message for this comes up as well and states the SPLOT.exe is incompatible with the 64 bit Windows.
There is not much information on the web regarding this program and was hoping to find a fix here before trying to get some information from the NGS.
Thanks for the heads up.
Brad
Brad:
You need to open the PAGES-NT help file PNT6MAN.PDF, go to Appendix H, and follow the Run steps one by one. After each step, the manual will tell you where to look to verify that you are succeeding in your processing. If you never produced the float.rms file, you are not succeeding. The manual will give you clues about how to fix problems.

Unfortunately I cannot follow step 1 because the program gives me the error stating that the splot.exe is not compatable with 64bit Windows. I forgot to mention that one too.
I could just be a dope, but I thought I followed the PDF page by page. I'll check my default.txt again. Hopefully I just mistyped something.
Thank you,
Brad
Howdy,
For what it's worth, you indicate that you chose to perform steps 1-6 on the baseline processing selection screen. Try doing the steps individually. That is what Mr Pottefield suggested.
The problem with SPLOT "merely" prevents viewing of plots and performing manual editing. Viewing the plots is essential in my opinion. The cycle slip fixing and other manual editing possible with the program are best left for later when more familiar with the program. Plot viewing is possible with other tools that work within the 64-bit environment.
PAGE-NT is very "picky" when it comes to formatting of the default.txt file. A stray "invisible" entry can cause it to not work. Paths must be set up correctly. This is more challenging in more "recent" versions of Windoze.
Hope this helps,
DMM
Thanks everyone for the help. I had downloaded the updated programs.exe (pnt6k) from NGS' ftp site and for the life of me, I could not get it to work. I came home and tried the older programs.exe file (pnt6j) and it ran like it should.
I still get the error
"Unsupported 16-Bit Application"
"The program or feature "??C:PAGE-NTpnt6jsplot.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit version of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available."
GeeOddMike, what are some of the other programs I could use to circumvent this issue.
Thanks in advance,
Brad
Howdy,
You will not be able to have the full functionality of SPLOT with other tools. You will not be able to create a set of editing instructions from interacing with the plot like you can with SPLOT. Creating a 16-bit environment to run the software is one option.
As for the goal of "merely" plotting the output of various PAGE-NT modules, the programs create *.lim and *.plt files for various stages of processing. Using them as input into Matlab, Scilab, GMT,gnuplot, etc is possible.
Functionally, the plots are to help analze data. They are not needed to process data, i.e. to generate a solution. They allow the analyst to determine whether there are problems with data or processing.
You might also look for the GPS Toolkit set of algorithms and code (mostly C and C++).
Unfortunately, I am traveling and only have my iPad and cannot look more deeply into your issue. I also do not use Windoze software much and do not have Windows 7.
Finally, you indicate that you were able to process data with an older version of PAGE-NT. Can you use the Default.txt file from the old version with the new? Obviously, the newer version has many changed/new modules. The old version should be considered obsolete for precise geodetic application. Of course, you are probably not doing precise geodesy.
Hope this is helpful.
I'm struggling to process a SACS with PAGE-NT, has anyone had luck running PAGE-NT with windows 10??ÿ I've loaded PAGE-NT, following the instructions the data is input but the run function does not generate a solution.?ÿ Any suggestions or additional help documents would be appreciated.?ÿ
I have successfully used PAGE-NT on Windows 10, but it has been about 18 months, so I can't speak for the most recent build. But I had no problems setting it up and running it in that environment.
Without any additional information it is really difficult to pinpoint the cause. I would start with the readme file to ensure your setup is not conflicting with any known issues.
