Watch out for things on Real Z. Carlson has that as default settings in Point Defaults and Field to Finish (Additional Draw Options).

Fine, if you're a fan of Real Z, but if you never use it and aren't expecting it, it can mess you up at first.

oK, one handy thing that I haven't yet dug out of the bowels of Carlson is the ability to "draw" points simply by windowing part of the screen. In LDD, it was 'insert-by window" Is there something similar in Carlson 2016??
So far, the way of dealing with points seems to be the most logistically confusing. I'm open to any and all tips out there!!!

Pretty easy.. go to points>draw locate points. A window pops up and you see under the symbol a check box for window/coord range. Click that on and click "draw all" and it asks you to pick a window or coordinate range. click screen or type s and then make a window.

Sweet!! thanks. I think that "draw All" option was throwing me off the scent.

Ok, that was a success, so let's try another one. I like to make custom toolbars so I don't have a billion icons on the screen that I don't use. I can't seem to find the option to make a toolbar by "cherry picking" the things I need. thanks in advance!!

Yeah... some of the words can throw you off. I still struggle with the opening splash screen when trying to pick a drawing or open a drawing. I always seem to get the wrong one. I think there could be a better word, but I can't even suggest one. I just double click on the drawing in the list to open it. Please keep asking questions... you will love Carlson once you get going. Still learning tricks on it.

I have this same issue. I wish they put "Browse" instead of "Open" on the button that sends you off to browse the directory folders for the drawing you want to work on.
