Extending lines in AutoCAD

My computer collapsed last week and I've been dealing with the nightmare of getting programs re-installed and preferences set on my new computer.

The one thing that eludes me is Extend in AutoCAD. I can extend if one line actually intersects another, but I cannot extend if they meet at some projection. What box do I have to check or uncheck.

Jeez I hate this.

When u Type ex for extend It has a couple different variables, one is e for edgemode extend or no extend. No extend is default and you want to change that to extend. That should fix it.

"Apparent intersection" needs to be checked in your osnaps list.

Extend normally won't work if there is no line to "catch" it. I normally use fillet to intersect to lines, just set the radius to zero. Or maybe I don't understand the question?
