I've had a DC50 data collector in reserve for a couple of years and now find myself needing to put it into service. I've been trying to get it to communicate with my Topcon GPT-3003W with no success.

At this point I'd be happy to be able to use the RS-232C port with one of my Topcon cables. I'll worry about getting the wireless communication up and running later but really need to get the collector in service.

I've checked all the port settings for the instrument and made sure they match the settings with the collector. I've also reset the collector and followed all of the normal procedures to get the communication issues resolved. I can get the instrument to read after using "collect" or "read" on the DC 50 but the resultant data is not returned to the collector and I get a transfer error message. In other words it seems I'm getting one-way communication from the collector to the instrument but not in reverse. I've tried several different cables with the same results.

I'm sure I've overlooked something simple but would like some input from those on this board with far greater experience with the DC 50 than I currently possess. Is it possible there is a bug that was resolved in a software update? I'm unable to access any information from the PSSLLC web site as it appears to be out of service. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
