I just updated my carlson SurvCE, and it just plain doesn't work.
Resections with more than 2 points lock it up, it redraws the map after every shot, or it doesnt draw the line work at all (randomly). It takes forever to redraw the linework, it takes forever to open the points list...and I am sure there are more issues.
Anyone else have any issues out there?
FC2500 data collector running 2.62 (latest update installed yesterday)
Instrument: Topcon GPT-3005W
I've taken the liberty of forwarding this information into the Carlson Technical Support team but my suggestion would be to contact them tomorrow at 606-564-5028 to see if they have any suggestions for you. They will likely inquire which "Model" number for the Topcon equipment you've selected in SurvCE along with the communication parameters you have specified and will probably also want to know which firmware version is on the GPT-3005W.
That sounds strangely similar to my DC except for I am using a FC-2500 with TopSurv 8. Don't know if this will help with Carlson but I found that if I changed the screen view panel from ""Map View" to "Cross Section" view, it stores and runs faster because it's not redrawing and replotting all the points on the map after every shot.

Great. I will be calling them. I was interested to know if I was the only one.
Many experience with Carlson is very positive. Not so much with the FC2500.
Carlson Customer Service got me straightened out

For some reason someone (me) created jobs as numeric rather than alphanumeric. This creates problems if you have large point ranges (which I do). Changed that, and it worked just fine.
