Anyone know how to display only a portion of a label field, and to add text to that same label field?

For example, I would like to display our tree text automatically through a point label style. In order to work, it would have to drop the TRD or TRC in front (which is our code for tree deciduous or tree conifer) and then add an inches symbol. The field code TRD 24 would then become 24", which would allow me to automatically label all my trees without having to monkey with text.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Paul

Can you export the attribute data to excel, then work with it there, then go back to the coordinate file? JRL

If your points are already coded something like:

TRD 24

then you can use a Point Format such as this:

$1"

and you will see what you want in the Full Description of the Cogo Point.
