I did a complete new install for civil 3D and all the things that come with it. I did it on my HP z820 Professional Work Station, which I have been running it until I changed out my hard drive and now am trying to install. It won't install without a ton of glitches. I can't even get Acad Map 3D ot install. I had this problem a couple years ago on a different computer, and I had figured by now they'd have this expensive software fixed where one could install it just like any good software. I resent having this happen when I pay this much for this stuff.

I figured it out. The MS Windows 10 settings security notifications have to be turned off. I wish they'd have said that in the installation setup routine. You wait on all of that stuff to download and install for more than an hour, and then it shows up that it failed, and you have to start over and don't know why.

Hi Frank
This is the way i install C3D 2016 or 2017
1) back up work i have 3 drives on my work computer 2 internal ssd and one regular internal HD to back up work ssd drawings
2) re-install windows 7 from CD = very important to work from DVD CD everything seems way smoother then online
3) Install C3D 2017 from DVD DISK way smoother then online.
4) get internet working
5) install virus protection
6) let OS and C3D install updates online
With this work flow i have had zero blue screen or next to zero C3D 2017 lock ups
7) if you have lock ups please repeat above for it did not just go right
8) IF above fails for the third time the computer is old or worn out
9) I know this is a bit of work a full day but who wants to go back to paper or can
10) get latest drivers for your computer before step 1) on internal HD for step 2) work
