I have a buddy that uses an old CG cad program. I sent him a *.csv file and he's having trouble getting it into an existing drawing.
I took a look at it for him and couldn't see how to import an ascii file.
Anybody remember how to do this?
TIA
Dugger
It's been a long time, ten or twelve years and I don't remember the details, but seem to remember it took a header which delineated which column had what. Wouldn't hurt to check the 'Help' files or manual.
Just rename the.csv to .txt.
could try typing DBconnect and link the excel spread sheet? I think that would work for the really old versions of autocad..... :-/

windows....
Doug,
I have what is probably the earliest version of C & G windows with embedded Autocad. In the top toolbar there is a tab marked CGFile. Click on that tab and a dropdown menu appears. Hover over Coordinate Files and another dropdown menu appears with the option of importing ASCII file into Coordinates.
See of you can find it.
Thanks Alan, we'll give that a shot!
🙂
THAT'S IT!!!!
Thanks Alan, is this a great board or what!?!
