Howdy ya'll. I'm running a newer Topcon PS robot with a new Carlson Surveyor2 with Survce.
I set up between two known monuments that I have shot before, that checked great. I then stake out a property corner with the topcon 360 prism. It is telling me in and out, left right. I get close to the point, It tells me in 0.05 feet, I move in 0.05. Then it tells me out 0.05. So I move out. So I play this cruel game a few times and even when I move out 0.02...it keeps the in and out at best 0.05. Meaning I never see the out 0.00. Anyone with a set up like this see something similar? Maybe I should just lower my standards.
When you configure your instrument under the total station tab, select 'fine' instead of 'tracking'. There is also the choice of 'coarse', hate to see how much that will make your numbers jump around. Figured this one out after a very frustrating morning of trying to stake an electrical substation.
I agree. It seems that the EDM is set to Tracking.
It only measures to 0.1' in that mode...
Thanks for the heads up on this, I will reset tomorrow and try.
