If I have an older version of AutoCAD (2002) will the newer versions of Carlson work with it?
They should work on the same machine because the command line to open the programs are different.
I have Carlson CES and AutoCAD Map R2 installed on the same machine.
I was more referring to whether the older version of CAD would work as the engine for Carlson or if it required the latest version of Auto CAD to run the latest version of Carlson. I am assuming it does but am curious.
An associate has AutoCAD 2006 and Carlson 2008 Imbedded running on the same machine.
Each program uses their own engine.
Carlson will work with older CAD.
I have Map 2006 with Carlson 2013.
Check with Carlson, I believe it will work back to 2000. I'm not sure about 14, but I never used 14 anyhow (went from 12 to 2002)
Thanks, I am running LDD3 and was curious if Carlson 2013 would work with it.
I used to run Carlson 2008 on ACAD 2002.
When you install Carlson it will give you a list of ACAD versions, and you just click the correct one.
Latest version of Carlson will work with Autocad 2004 and up.

Captain Caveman has it correct:
Carlson 2012 and earlier work with AutoCAD (non-LT) versions 2000 - 2012.
Carlson 2013 works with AutoCAD (non-LT) versions 2004 - 2013.
For the fellow with LDD3, could he purchase a license of Carlson 2012? That would be convenient...

If memory serves me correctly, LDD3 would be based on the AutoCAD 2002 engine. As such, Carlson 2012 would be the last version that would support LDD3.
