Up until now I could double-click to edit my point block, (number, description, elevation, etc.).

Now when I double-click, the command line reads, **STRETCH**.

Can anyone tell me how to get the edit back?

Thanks

Is that a new Carlson for you? My 2008 edition edits the point block when I double click on a point.

No, it's the same version on the same computer for a year and a half (CS2012).

For some reason it's decided to change itself. So, now I need a way to get it to switch back.

Also, now my clipboard/copy w/ base point - Paste to original coordinates doesn't work either. I'm guessing that it's related somehow.

Under settings/AutoCAD Options (or intellicad......you didn't say which one you have)/go to the User Preference tab, click on that, top left block Windows Standard Behavior/ check the box that says Double click editing.
If you use the clipboard copy with base point, the paste to original coordinates usually doesn't work because the program gets confused. Use just the copy option if you are pasting to original coordinates.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm using CS2012 with embedded ACAD. I do have that box checked right now, (it already was checked) and I'm unable to edit my point block entities by double-clicking.

Also, I have always been able to window my points, lines, etc., and then click edit clipboard, copy with base point. Now, though, I need to do the command, and then window everything. Not that big of a difference - but something has changed, and I don't know why.

Maybe try this:

type PICKFIRST
is it set to 0?

set it to 1

It sounds like something has been scrambled in the drawing. Try openoing a new drawing and then insert your original drawing as a block or by using the clipboard option. Now see if everything works. (Try this only if the other ideas above fail to fix the problems.)

I had this happen once too. Somehow, your double click action has been changed from "editpnt". Open the CUI and change the Doubleclick action to "editpnt". Worked for me.

Happened once to me to. I clicked on Edit Point Attributes on the Points Pulldown and edited a point. After that, double-clicking on points would let me edit them again. :-/

That's it.

Thanks

Don't really understand how that changed on me, though
