A while back on my laptop, I had Carlson Survey OEM 2016 Crash while changing colors within a MText entity. Then the crashes became more frequent when editing, now it is crashing on the save.
Anybody have this problem before or any ideas how to fix? maybe I should just reinstall?

Is it doing it only in this one drawing, or any drawing?

We are working on a massive boundary and GIS project, and we have a file or two that just gives the PC fits. Something in that drawing has become corrupted. Try running an audit and purge, and see if that helps.

Carlson Support looked at the drawing that was giving us problems, and created another drawing, and then inserted the problem drawing into the new drawing, and it helped, but there is something that is still corrupt. As I am typing this, I seem to remember we have tried using annotative text in that drawing, and that is when our tech started noticing the problems. I'll have to check that out.

Good luck, it is frustrating when you have a drawing like that. 99.9% of the time, Carlson OEM is rock solid for us.

It's doing it in different drawings. It lets me draft until I go to save, then it crashes. What a pain. It had been stable for a year, don't know what changed

Probably a windows update. We've had an issue with that before.

Could be, I looked at what programs would be affected at different restore points and there are several windows updates, the last one control panel disappeared, I guess windows decided to move it to a different location.

I've got crashes that I never had before. Started a month ago, and our IT people can't seem to fix it. If I accidentally click in the drawing field or the command line twice, it crashes. Sure it gives me a warning that it can't continue, but it's still pretty annoying.

What location on your computer or network server are you attempting to save the drawing(s) when the crash occurs? In other words, if you attempt to save a simple drawing to your standard Documents folder where you have (or should have) full file permissions, does the problem still occur?

It's on a folder I created for drawings, I've never had a problem saving there, I have the same directory structure on the desktop. I use Synctoy to sync files, the desktop is not having this issue.
I tried to just reload Survey, but I guess I have to uninstall before I try to install. I got to point on the install where continue was grayed out and a note, program already installed.

We save to a raid type server most of the time, and have this problem with the drawing mentioned above. I believe it also does it when it is saved to a laptop hard drive.
