I am trying to merge to overlapping tin files. I am using the merge tin command under tin utilities but am not getting consistent results. The first to tins merged ok, but it is not working when I add the 3rd tin. I am trying to use the wipe and overwrite command but I am only getting the area of the second tin as a result. I am not sure what I did to get it to work the first time. Any idea what is not working?
Thanks.
Without knowing the exact steps you are following, my recommendation would be to run multiple instances of the Merge routine:
Existing1 + Proposed1 = Merged1
Then, run a second instance of the routine where the "existing" is the result of the first pass:
Merged1 + Proposed2 = Merged2
etc, repeat as needed. Does this help?
Hi Ladd, just wanna say thank you for being a helpful member in this forum, I always notice you extending assistance to surveyors in need, even if it's free and already way beyond your official duties in Carlson. Good job !! :good: :good:
Many thanks as well to all members who help and share their techniques & experience, you guys are the reason why this forum is a great source of surveying knowledge.
:good: 🙂
Thanks Ladd.
I tried it again this morning and it worked. In the merge tin dialogue box it was turning most of the surface red, which I took to mean it was erasing based on previous experience. I saved it anyway and it worked fine.
