ok Carlson wizards, the problem is:
I insert a block (created fr. another cogo program) and it comes into CS/Intell w. reversed coordinates. That is, source block at (x.y) inserted as (y,x).
Because I'm working in SPC this puts the inserted block in outer-modelspace. If I do find the bugger its a simple (but unnecessary) task of trans/rot to the points assoc w. the block.
I'm sure its a flag setting or variable to change from 1 to 0, but cannot find it.

BTW, the point files come in no problem.
BTW, the source block is correct because if I open that in a new drawing file it is good.

correct orientation

reversed orientation

Is your original drawing using an X, Y, Z format? Carlson and Autocad use Y, X. z (North, East, Elev.) format.
Bring your points into Carlson and look at the list points otion. Arethe numbers in the same order as the coordinate file used in the other system?

I created the block in another cogo program.
Export points and linework as I always have done in the past. And this always worked in the past.
Point come into Carlson correct Blocks do not.
Some setting in Carlson, that affects how blocks are inserted, has changed but I cannot figure it out.

Apparently their tech support cannot figure it out either cuz no solution fr. them.

maybe reinstall the program ? Seems extreme but....

What other cogo program are you using to create this block?

If you are able to open and view the block with a DWG viewer, is it still oriented incorrectly?

Curious what happens if you insert the blocks in a new, blank dwg (you say they are okay that way) then copy/paste to other job.
What happens if you do opposite?
Draw a line between a couple of points and either export from Carlson as block and insert into 'block' dwg or copy/paste into same.

The block doesn't look reversed per se, it looks like it is coming in at an orientation of 90° from what you'd expect. There aren't any settings I'm aware of in Carlson that would impact a straight block insertion but some possible culprits include:

  • The block you are trying to bring in has already been defined in the DWG with a 90° rotation angle applied to it, or,
  • The block definition from ForeSight maps its "Y" direction as horizontal on its screen, or,
  • Perhaps a user-coordinate system is in place in either of the two drawings

From the looks of your cursor position in each of the two screen captures seems to be in the ball-park of one another.

If you'd care to send me your source block and the drawing you are attempting to insert it into, I'll take a look (lnelsonATcarlsonswDOTcom).
