Our back up data collector lost it's mind today. First the Carlson SurvCE icon disappeared off the main screen and then the number key pad and function keys went hay wire. All the number keys function...just not right. 1 gives you 9, 2 - 0, 4-5 and so on. The functions don't appear to be working at all. After a warm but the icon came back but the number still are screwed. A cold boot doesn't do anything either. Does anyone else have an idea to recalibrate the number buttons?
How do your batteries read?
The 600+ was my favorite DC and never had anything like that.
Perhaps the keyboard got mashed???

It sounds like you may need to re-map your keyboard:

Matt
Batteries read full but I'll have to check them out, we've had weird things happen in the past when the batteries got alittle worn out.
No smashing of the key board, worked fine yesterday when I put it away then got it out this morning and it lost it's mind.
After using some of the other collectors, this one and the SDR 33 are my favorites.
That fixed the problem. Thanks, knew (or hoped) it would be something simple. Been using it for 8yrs and never had that problem.
That's good to hear!
I didn't know you could map keys. If I did, I have long since forgotten.
Been about 8 years since I've my hands on the 600 unit.
The keyboard layout alone sold me over the previous Explorer units.
