We are demoing a carlson data collector and having some trouble figuring it out. We've been able to load a control file but cant seem to find it. I need to be able to shoot the control file. On the topcon equipment we usually import a csv fine and are able to find it under the control tab to be able to measure the control point. I cant seem to find that option in the carlson data collector anywhere. If someone can point me in the right direction.

If you are demoing the data collector, it is set to whoever used it last’s preferences. Whether than trying to redefine all of the preferences of an unfamiliar setup, just create yourself a new folder and run EVERTHING you do in that new folder. If you can not find the control find, it did not load or you loaded it somewhere you did not intend. Try loading it to your folder as a .txt file, Carlson seems to like .txt file nomenclature better. Good Luck.

Put your control file on a USB.

Go to File/ 7 Import/Export

Import ASCII File

Select File (upper right, below check box and X box)

Press the upfolder button all the way till you get all the way to main drive.  Click on Hard Disk (that's what they're calling the USB).  Click to wherever you put it on the USB.  Select the file

Then hit the Check button, and all your points should come in
