I frequently enter deeds using the "enter deed description" and I would like to be able to have the program default to the last entered bearing so that I dont have to reenter it everytime I am going along a line with multiple points, It would be a nice feature.
I've used that routine a time or two and don't like the fact that it assigns point numbers. Instead, I draw the deed using 2dp, rotate and translate it, pick the points I want, and assign values based on that. It seems WAY faster also.

Kris,
There's a box that can be unchecked on the "Enter Deed Description" dialog box so that it DOESN'T draw points, only lines and annotation.
I use Extend by Distance. I draw a 2d polyline and rotate it to my first bearing and then extend by distance, Extend by Distance then lets me enter the bearings and distances for the remaining work. I should probably look into the deed entry though.

I saw that a few years ago and was already used to doing it the other way. It's almost intuitive the way I draw the deeds with lines
2dp
click somewhere
d enter distance enter a enter quadrant enter bearing enter voila, line is drawn and after I got used to it, 20 call descriptions take a few minutes.
That's sounding more complicated than the Enter Deed Description command.
It's the Create Lots routines that I find annoying, that you're forced to create point numbers. I usually put them up around 100000, and delete them later.
i do the same, but PDD with only the deed information
i want to monkey with the record information before i make points or annotation
Doesn't the UP arrow key repeat previous keystrokes?

I've passed this information along to the Carlson development team and have been told it is on the To Do list.
COGO > LINE BY ANGLE DISTANCE
... USE THIS AND YOU WILL NOT GET POINT NUMBERS JUST THE LINES

I have not used that command, seems pretty handy. However, you don't get annotations on your lines like Enter Deed Description (which you can also turn off).

I'm talking about the lot file - creating a "lot" from lines/polylines that are already in the dwg. The routine assigns point numbers to endpoints that don't already have them.
I use it all the time to enter plans, I did "complain" sometime ago about the difference between using the cogo> commands vs. the "enter by deed", for instance, in "enter by ded, the quadrant is part of the bearing entry and the cogo comamnd it's a seperate first entry...
but in the cogo command it's not as easy to enter the curve data...
I don't like the curve entry in the Enter Deed routine. It doesn't always make it tangent to the line coming from the curve (how could it) - off by a few seconds sometimes.
I always go off to the side and make the two bearings coming in and out, and then fillet with the radius - and then move the curve to where it belongs. It takes longer, but it makes them tangent.
Glenn, typically, when making composites of deeds, especially when working on the grid, is that I will draw the commands, autoann the linework, then rotate and translate the annotation and linework into the master composite. It will make a line table and I can, as the offspring suggested, keep em separated. It works for me, may not for everyone. I dig it though. 🙂

Hey, if it works for you, "keep 'em separated". I love the Offspring.
Ladd,
Another wish list item for "Enter Deed Description" is to have a prompt for a description/annotation for a corner, even though you don't want to create points.
