I am running Carlson 2012 and drafted a topo. Everything has x,y, and z values. The architect and engineer what everything (lines, symbols, text etc) in the .dwg at zero elevation. I tried to do the old

Change

and type in "0" but it says: "Cannot change elevation of objects with differing Z coordinates."

I remember this being frustrating when I was running LDD (10 yrs ago), but now I need to do it in Carlson (2012). Any help?

Try the FLATTEN command. I know it works in AutoCAD 2013, not sure about the embeded or Intellicad versions.

Maybe "change polyline elevations", or "3D entities to 2D"

Does 2012 have the DRAWING CLEANUP routine?

If so, there is a box in there:
SET ELEVATIONS OUTSIDE RANGE TO ZERO

I'd set the the range to 20000 min and 21000 max, this should change everything to zero elevation. (in my state anyway)

I believe you're going to have to check your point defaults to make sure that the "locate on Real Z axis" is turned off, and reprocess your points.

Yup, "3D Entity to 2D". (In the edit pulldown)

Tell that ignorant SOB to do it himself since he's gonna molest your data anyway.

Thank you all for your suggestions, but thank you especially Kris. Love that answer. I was out of town a while but I will give some of these a shot here later today.
