Just throwing this out there to see if any of you have had a similar problem and if so, a possible solution. We just upgraded to 2011 Civil 3D and Carlson 2011. I'm having a problem everytime I open a second dwg, including just having "drwing 1" open. As soon as the second dwg opens I loose access to the point database (mdb.) and all commands that deal with it. I'm running on a fairly new 32 bit computer. I've tried going through Carlson help which i've spent alot of time explaing all of this but have gotten no answers. In fact that they didn't even get back to me, I had to call them to find out they don't know why this is happening.
I just thought i'd ask on here to see if maybe someone came across the same problem. Twisting my fingers and saying a prayer! Thanks for any info!

I don't have the C3D readily available to try to replicate the behavior but I do have a question:

1. If, rather than using Points.mdb you use the Carlson CRD file, does the loss of coordinate functionality continue?

I have opened several plans/data files under Carlson 2011 (Inside Civil3D 2009)and I have had no problems. I moved back and forth several times and each time the correct data file was attached to the drawing. Are you sure you have saved the drawing with the data file attached to it? Maybe try reinstalling Carlson 2011.

Good luck with your problem, let us know how it works out.

On a side note, I wish I could get "Drawing 1" to not open at startup. I've scoured the Internet looking for a solution, to no avail. I remember doing it in Autocad Map 2008, but can't remember how.

Good luck with our issue.

I'm going to reinstall everything, 2011 c3d and carlson 2011. Just haven't gotten around to it. I will try it with a crd file rather than a mdb and see if that does anything first. I thank-you all for your help and i'll keep the post updated as i go along, just in case anyone else comes across the same problem.
