Thanks for putting in the time on that, Bob. I have tried it, it works great, and it's going into the rotation right away.
I just click and move it or change the style to a different one if I need it to be another one. It's really not a big deal.
Agree with Bob. The real problem is the line changing.
Most all I do are boundary/row surveys in C3D. Labeling takes a long time to understand and do well, because it is a complete mind shift from LDD or other point based label platforms. It is a line based platform. Completely different.
I would further caution against exploding labels. Ive found that it is either one way or the other.
Meaning to either figure out the labeling routines in c3d or explode everything.
C3d will do what you want, and easily. However, it sounds like your drafter is not up to speed on everything it can do, and the procedures that must be followed to ensure repeatability.

Switching from LDD to C3D requires a completely different approach. Smart labeling requires Smart drafting and if your drafter is not trained properly on the C3D ways your drawings will suffer. I'll take C3D anyday over LDD....once it's setup properly.
