Anybody out there know if the bluetooth on the newer Topcon ES-105 total station will work with the bluetooth system in a Trimble TSC2 (about 4 years old).
Thanks

It probably will have more to do with what software is on the TSC-2 than the total station.

The ES series has the standard Topcon comm parameters and the Bluetooth is pretty standard too. But we have a TSC-2 here with Trimble Access on it and we were never able to get them to communicate inside the software. The Bluetooth on the TSC-2 would see the instrument and there was no problem setting up the partnership but we were not able to make the setup communicate, even with a cable in the Access software.

The only instrument that we could make work with it Bluetooth was a Nikon Nivo.

Thanks Jerry--other feedback I received was from Topcon, they said no it wil not work and my Trimble dealer said it probably could depending on the TSC2 software and installed drivers. Our NJ Conference is in a month and they will both be there so I'll beat them up at the show and see if they can communicate.

Steve

If it is Trimble Access, your Trimble guy may know some trick we don't. And for that matter, the Topcon guy may too. But with Access on a unit we have, we never did get it to do more than tickle the gun.

How about with RS232 cable connection?

Any success driving the Topcon ES-105 with a Trimble Access controller thru RS232 cable connection?
