I'm working on a small survey and have points that consistantly plot about 1500' from the actual cordinate location. I've tried every trick and routine to correct it, but the point plotting and coordinate point still plots 10000' off. When I align, translate or rotate the points the still plot off. When I update the drawing or coordinate file they still plot off. I restarted the program and evreything.
Very strange - I'm going to do a new drawing with this coord file and see what happens.
Try resetting the grouping (whatever that means).
I have a post-it note on my desk for this one.
It is an AutoCAD thing I ran into this week too.

Or perhaps it's a bug related to a point description.
Way back in the 1990's when I first started with InRoads and TDS, there was a bug where when the descriptor was SDR (the NYSDOT code for Storm Drain) it would cause the entire point file to convert to metric. It took us a few days to figure it out, after we imported a small part of the file that had no "SDR" in it.
I redrew the survey, but was a strange thing???
Feel free to send me your errant DWG and CRD file and I'll take a look (lnelsonATcarlsonswDOTcom). Otherwise, I would check your UCS to make sure it is set to World:
>Command: ucs
>Current ucs name: *WORLD*
>Specify origin of UCS or [Face/NAmed/OBject/Previous/View/World/X/Y/Z/ZAxis] : w
The follow this by setting your view back to "plan" view for good measure:
>Command: plan
>Enter an option [Current ucs/Ucs/World] : w
>Regenerating model.
>Command:
(also the same as View -- 3D Views -- Viewpoint 3D)
Thanks - Ladd
I'll bug you on another problem
Update the drawing from the CRD file?
Check the drawing's origin.
I had this happen last week in 3D. It drove me nuts until someone suggested the origin had moved.
Apparently, this can happen spontaneously...
