My AutoCAD id defaulting all my lines to a default "polyline" layer, not the current layer.

How do I fix this?

Thank you

Sounds like you're using a non-native command to draw them. What are you using?

Draw polyline, same command I've used for 20 years? Some setting was changed somewhere, we can't find it.

Thanks

in Carlson....

When I issue the polyline command, if I hit O, for options, I can change that.

I wonder if the new ACAD has a similar feature?

I think he's using something besides plain acad. "Draw" and "Polyline" are not native acad commands. "Pline" should draw correctly.

Draw is the AutoCAD pulldown menu that Polyline is on. So Draw is not the command, but the menu where the command is found.

If he types "pline" on the command line, it should draw on the current layer. That will tell him if he's using some other product or not.
