I just got a patch notice for my Civil 3D from Autodesk. Downloaded it, and it simply won't install. Just eventually says program not responding. Locks up.
The last patch before that had similar problems. Called tech support who handles my subscriptions, and they were not sure about some of the prompts when it did try to install.
What am I missing? Why can't this software just do a patch like all the other good software out there on the market. I had issues with 2012 not installing on an HP computer due to some unknown error, and I called my tech support retailer as well as Autodesk, and they couldn't figure it out.
Is Autodesk slipping back to the terrible days of Version 13????? Seems like it.
Carlson, which is by far the finest civil package out there in my opinion, is working hard on Intellicad union, and I am extremely eager to move to the Intellicad platform and dump Acad. For now I am running Carlson on ACAD, but when Intellicad really and truly totally "arrives," I am changing. I cannot stand it when I pay good money for something, and it won't work right. Don't have time to fool around. Carlson is as perfect a software as I have ever used.
Can anyone enlighten me on the reliability and ability to produce seamless DWG format without glitches in reference images, etc?
THis is all just my opinion.
I second that.
I understand your pain. Had issues paying the high maintenance fee or subscription fee back in 2010 and haven't paid it since. Still using C3D 2010 with Carlson 2014. Still working great. CAD crashed sometimes. I am like you and can't wait for Intellicad. I tried out Briscad recently. Very nice CAD engine, but Carlson doesn't work with it.
