Anyone have any experience with AutoCAD Vault?

My organization is looking hard at Vault as a CAD file and document management system and I'm interested in getting opinions from folks who have used it in their organizations.

What version/level do you use?

Good points and bad points?

Any recommendations?

Anyone know of anything else out there in the market that offers the same functionality that we should be looking at?

Thanks in advance for any input you can provide!

Brian

You could go to the following site:

www.theswamp.org

and do a search for vault. You'll get several pages of info. The kicker is that you can't do it as a guest so you have to register to do the search.

Brian, We use Falcon DMS. It can be found here:

Falcon Document Management System

I love it! If someone has a DGN, or a DWG for you awefulcad guys, checked out, then nobody else can edit that file until you check it back in. But they can make a copy to view and are able to see what was in it the last time it was checked in. What I really like about it is that we can run it as a windows based system with an old style file format, or we can log in inside MicroStation and check our stuff in from there.
