Is anyone using these radios with Trimble Survey controller software? I am running them with Survey Pro and I have a routine that gets me going without much hassle. I am trying to get a friend going on these that is running Survey Controller and I can't find the sweet spot where the DC will allow me to disconnect from the serial cable and plug in the Bluetooth and keep a connection going. I have been able to get it about one in every 10 attempts, so I know it works.

Has anyone been able to run these radios without first establishing a serial connection?

Thanks.

I would love to figure out how to avoid the serial connection, but so far I have to direct connect every time as step #1. I'm using Access, not SC but I assume it is basically the same.

A few tips:
1. After connecting make sure that the gun is not actively sensing a prism, if you've set up turn the gun away from the prism. If the gun is getting feedback the connection is "live" and disconnecting will result an error.
2. Making sure the gun is not in DR mode, again avoiding the connection being active.
3. Make sure your auto-lock is turned off, if it is "off" and you're still having problems try turning autolock off and back on. This software is buggy and even though it says it's off it sometimes is still looking for one.
4. Unplug and replug as fast as possible.
5. Hard reset the controller as a last resort.. this works for me every time.

Good luck!

Thanks a bunch for your input. It seems like we had all of the wrong things going (DR, Autolock, etc.).
