We had one just like it here on Thanksgiving. None of them were wearing seat belts. One survived, but she's still hospitalized.

We worked a fatality accident yesterday morning. 24 year old girl, the grand-daughter of my high school English teacher, pulled out in front of a semi. We worked and got her out in record time, but it wasn't fast enough and she was in very bad shape. Didn't make it to the helio ride.

Tragedy for sure, just going to college early in the morning.

However, even that will never make me upset that I have kids; however, I will admit, I worry more each day they get closer to 16 years old.

Employee's 10 yr. old niece was crossing the street with a friend from a park in Arizona a couple of years back and a dude on a motorcycle was not paying attention to the cars that were slowing down and killed the friend. My employee moved on, so I do not know the repercussions with the niece in terms of mental trauma.

BTW I do not think the dude on the bike even got charged. Apparently if you are sober and stupid you can get away with things.

It's true, at least in Calif and AZ. I can attest to this. I saw a cat in the middle of the road and went out to save it. The first few cars slowed down for me and let me by, but the car behind them was impatient because she had to get to work and was not paying attention to the other stopped cars so she swerved around those cars and right into the lane where I was and hit me at 40 MPH. (Got the police report to prove it.)

They said I was at fault for not using a crosswalk. 🙁

Very surprised to hear they faulted you. I thought they always fault the driver even if there was no crosswalk.

I believe in my example they were at a crosswalk and everything. It was a major oversight.

My attorneys were surprised too!! Especially because after the lady hit me she sped off and tried to flee the scene. The car she cut off and zoomed in front of which caused her to hit me was an off duty policewoman. That lady took off after her and blocked her off and directed her back to the scene. The lady that hit me tells her "Oh I no see human. I see cat only! I late for work! Cat hit, I sorry." She thought she plowed into the cat and not me. Sheesh!!! 😛
